Eagle Square
This
is Langkawi's most prominent landmark greeting visitorsn arriving
in Langkawi by sea.
The magnificent reddish brown eagle commemorated
in this Eagle Square is perched majestically atop an open and
breezy square.
Legend has it that the island is named after this
magnificent bird, "Lang" meaning bird and "Batu
Kawi" meaning brown stone.

The square is beautifully landscaped with scenic ponds, bridges
and coverd terraces, and is especially beautiful when illuminated
at night.
