sells books on Malaysia and in the Malay Language.
Rumah POK RAFEAH
This house is dedicated to Madam Pok Rafeah, the mother of Malaysia's
Economic Adviser, Tun Daim Zainuddin who had contributed to the
project. It houses
Rumah NOEL ANSELOT
This house is named after Mr. Noel Anselor, Founder of Redu Village
du Livre, Belgium It houses
- LAVA, which sells local and international magazines
- HIZBI, which sells children and religious books
- PUSTAKA AL-HAS, which sells children books
Rumah
RICHARD BOOTH
This house is named after 'King' Richard Booth, Founder of the
first Book Village at Hay-on-Wye in Wales.
It houses
- PUSTAKA UNION which sells old and antiquarian books in English.
- ASIA KYUSHU GALLERY, the only gallery that exhibits
the One-Village-One-Product Scheme from Japan,
Taiwan, China, The Philipines, South Korea and Malaysia.
Commemoration
Monument
This monument is to commemorate the official opening of
Kampung Buku Malaysia by the Honourable Prime Minister of Malaysia,
Dato' Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad on the 3rd of December, 1997.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Honourable Tan Sri Sanusi
Junid, Chief Minister of the State of Kedah and Founder of the
Kampung Buku Malaysia. Among the Cabinet Ministers and Local dignitaries
present that day were Mr. Noel Anselot and Mr. Henk Ruessink.
DARULFIKIR specializes in second-hand and antiquarian
books in Arabic and on Arabic Literature; Islam and the Al-Quran.
Amphitheatre
This is the activity hub of the book village. Debates, plays,
traditional shows are staged here.
Rumah HENK RUESSINK
This house is named after Mr. Henk Ruessink, Founder of the Bredevoort
Boekenstad in the Netherlands.
It houses the POPULAR BOOK CO. that specializes in East Asian
books.
